Base your design on any mythical character/ person or something particular to Oxford.

The winning design will be built to 25ft high+, and 8 feet+ wide in wooden lathes and straw enabling the crowd to see it across the far-reaching views of South Parks Oxford.

We are hoping this year that our Sculpture could go up to 36 feet tall. This means that a tall slender design would be preferable.

The design needs to suit the Oak Lathes we use please see gallery pictures in left hand menu www.wickermanoxford.co.uk for wicker sculptures already made.

Colour can be incorporated; lights in the eyes, a headpiece of sorts can create height and look very dramatic. The options are never ending. Please be considerate to copyright, only use fictional/mythical characters, and be thoughtful in your design.

The winning design will be built by Oxford Round Table member, Dan Barton and friends and the finished creation will be burnt at the Oxford Round Table Charity Firework Display on 6th November 2010 at South Parks, Oxford with all proceeds going to charity. The 2009 Oxford Round Table Fireworks display attracted crowds of approx 22,000 to watch the burning of the Ice Princess who stood 25 feet tall.

We do not want to exclude any children/young person that is temporarily residing/staying in Oxfordshire at the time of the competition. We simply ask that should they/you win the £200 prize money for their school/organisation stays within Oxfordshire, the £100 prize money would be theirs/yours to keep

Please send your designs/ drawings with your name & age, school/organisation on the back of your design to the following address and ensure correct postage is paid . Entries will not be recalled from Royal Mail with incorrect postage.
